“Stunning Vernazza” (Cinque Terre, Italy) – The whole Cinque Terre region is amazing with spectacular sights around every corner. This springtime vantage point of Vernazza however is tough to beat in the warm late afternoon light!
“Santorini Sailing” (Santorini, Greek Islands) – This is the beautiful view over the blue domes of Oia, looking out over the Santorini Caldera to the Mediterranean Sea. I had the extra bonus when shooting at this location to have this fantastic boat sail into view at just the right time!
“Dreaming of Oia” (Santorini, Greek Islands) – This viewpoint in Oia is the most famous and popular location in all of the Greek Islands to take in the sunset. This is with very good reason, with endless Mediterranean views framed by classic white houses and cafes spilling down the hillside!
“Naoussa Harbour” (Paros, Greek Islands) - Having returned from a successful day’s catch, numerous beautiful fishing boats shelter at Naoussa Harbour, whilst their owners share stories of the day’s adventures in the many wonderful cafes that line the harbourside!
“Tuscan Fields” (Tuscany, Italy) – Image Description here *****
“Romantic Waterways” (Paros, Greek Islands) – Beautiful ambient morning light shines across a waterway in Venice. This is the best time of day to wander around old Venice town just soaking up the rich history and atmosphere of the area.
“Tuscan Garden” (Tuscany, Italy) - I had scouted out this little square in Pienza one afternoon and I decided to return the following morning to capture it in the pre sunrise light. I expected to have the place to myself however to my surprise the main street was a hive of activity as the town was setting up for their annual garden show weekend! To my delight they had already set up a grouping of bougainvilleas that provided just the right foreground balance to the scene!
“The Villa” (Tuscany, Italy) - The val d'Orica is an incredibly beautifully region of Tuscany and I just loved the Cypress trees and old stone farm houses that are dotted around the area. This image was taken just after a storm had passed through the area, leaving behind some sweet clouds and warm light to complement the scene.
“Venetian Dawn” (Venice, Italy) – The amazing architecture, squares and waterways of Venice combine to create an incredible experience. For this image it was a wonderfully peaceful dawn with mist hanging in the air and I had the famous St Mark's Square all to myself. A couple of hours later and you could hardly move in this spot!!
“Manarola Dusk” (Liguria Region, Italy) - The 5 clifftop villages of the “Cinque Terre” are an amazing world heritage listed area in Italy, with Manarola being perhaps the most spectacular. A hike between the villages is a must do experience for anyone visiting the area.
“Santorini Dreaming” (Santorini, Greek Islands) – A classic blue dome Santorini scene in the small town of Oia. The beautiful pre sunrise glow provided a great backdrop to this image! This place is incredible to wander around and explore with beautiful nooks and crannies to discover around every corner!
“Pastel Skies” (Paros, Greek Islands) - This shot was taken on the beautiful island of Paros. Whilst not as popular as Santorini or Mykonos, the island contained some stunning scenery. The beautiful pink sunset here was the perfect backdrop to an already beautiful scene!
“Heavenly Scene” (Dolomites, Italy) – I was transfixed witnessing this scene, with angel wings seeming to be formed in the clouds right over the Dolomites mountains and St Magdalena church.
“Mykonos Heights” (Mykonos, Greek Islands) – Image Description here *****
“Venetian Light” (Venice, Italy) – Image Description here *****
“The Meeting Place” (Paros, Greek Islands) - I stumbled across this quaint opening, whilst exploring the Paros laneways. It was siesta time when I took this image and the whole area was deserted – this changed a few hours later when it seemed to become a popular spot for locals together before heading off to the local cafes for dinner and the night’s festivities.
“A Grand Canal” (Venice, Italy) - The Grand Canal is the main waterway of Venice. A boat ride along the canal is a brilliant way to take in the amazing atmosphere and sights of Venice, particularly when the buildings light up at Dusk!
“Val d’Orcia” (Tuscany, Italy) – This stand of Cypress Trees is an iconic Tuscan scene and I was surprised to find it located right along a main road in the Val d'Orcia, southern Tuscany. At sunset the area is popular with both photographers and tourists. I decided that a more peaceful sunrise shoot would be more my style and I was rewarded with some nice clouds. More importantly I had the whole area to myself!
“Little Venice” (Mykonos, Greek Islands) – Named after Venice in Italy given the resemblance to that uniquely beautiful city, Little Venice contains beautiful buildings nestled together right on the water’s edge. This is a very popular spot to relax after a busy day!
